TIP: Setting up the Yoder Smoker Control/WiFi

  • Download the FireBoard App for Android or iOS
  • Set up your FireBoard account
  • Plug in Yoder to a 3 prong outlet or outdoor rated extension cord
  • Turn on the unit (the fans will turn on with the unit)
  • On the FireBoard app in the “Settings” tab click “Add FireBoard”. A serial number will appear on the Yoder display (make sure they match between the Yoder and the app)
  • Click on the serial number on the app
  • Once connected, under “Devices” click on the serial number again and there you will be able to manage your WiFi
  • Then to the left of your display on the Yoder, hit the top button to start your Yoder (you should hear pellets dropping within 10-15 Seconds)
  • Once you have your Yoder dropping pellets go to your App and on the “Dashboard” tab the top right that states “Set Point”. This set point temperature should have 350 as a default
  • Click on the “Set Point” icon and change it to 275 to make sure your Yoder is connected. (The confirmation will be that the Yoder display will change to 275 on the top of the display)
  • Once confirmed, change the set point back to the default of 350 for initial burn off
  • Allow your Yoder run for about 45 minutes to an hour
  • When shutting down the Yoder, push the power button and the display will remain lit, with a “cooling down” message
  • The fans will continue to run. They will shut off in about 10-15 minutes (this allows the remaining pellets in the burn pot to finish burning so that there is no chance of a fire remaining in your cooker.
  • Once everything is shut down, unplug the Yoder at the source, and from the unit itself, and place cord in the hopper box to keep it away from the elements.

In certain cases, you may need to perform a factory reset. Follow the below steps:

  • Press the Power button on the Yoder
  • Once Powered up, press the button beside the word “Menu”, (middle button)
  • Use the scroll wheel to go to “Settings”
  • Push in on the scroll wheel to select. Then, scroll to “Advanced” and select by pressing the scroll wheel
  • Scroll to “Factory Reset” and select by pressing the scroll wheel.
  • It will then prompt you to push the bottom button beside the word “Reset” six times. The screen will flash off then turn back on.
